Former President George W. Bush is scheduled to speak at the Sevierville Events Center at the Celebrator’s Conference. He will be the Wednesday evening guest speaker at the sold out conference.
The Celebrator’s Conference, an outreach of Phil Waldrep Ministries, is one of the leading Christian conferences for older adults and mature believers. Held this Monday through Thursday, this year’s annual conference is moving from Gatlinburg to the new Sevierville facility.

Upcoming Car Shows
Sunday, September 6th, 2009Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg are gearing up for the upcoming car shows the next two weekends. The 37th Annual Shades of the Past show will be held at National Parks Resort Lodge and Smoky Springs Ranch on Sept. 11th & 12th. The Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center will host the annual Grand Fall Rod Run the following weekend, Sept. 18th-20th.
We will try to post some pictures of early arrivals for the car show later this week.
The Resort still has units available for these two weekends. Via Veteran’s Boulevard, none car show enthusiasts have easy access to Dollywood.
New Addition to Sevierville’s Winterfest Celebration
Friday, August 28th, 2009It was announced this week that Christmas Wonderland will be held at Smokies Stadium during Sevierville’s Winterfest Celebration. The fully computerized LED light show will be one of the largest in the country. The drive-through synchronized light show will be nearly a mile in length and last about 20 minutes.
Christmas Wonderland will begin November 6th and will continue through January 3rd, 2010. Hours of operation are Sunday-Thursday 6PM-10PM and Friday & Saturday 6PM-11PM. Admission is $10 per vehicle.
Dollywood Removes Festival from Schedule
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Dollywood has announced that it will not be holding its annual Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival this fall. Park officials stated the festival, originally scheduled to take place Sept. 4-21, 2009, is on hiatus.
Arrowmont Photography Exhibit
Friday, August 14th, 2009Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg will hold a photography exhibition celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The exhibit is titled “In View of the Smokies: Celebrating 75 Years”.
The exhibit will run Aug. 21st through Oct 10th, Mondays through Saturdays 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Arrowmont is located at 556 Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg.
George Jones in Concert
Sunday, July 19th, 2009Country music legend George Jones will be performing in concert July 31 and Aug. 1 at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge. Advance tickets may be purchased at the box office or by calling 800-792-4308. George Jones’ concerts usually sell out in advance here in Pigeon Forge.
Merle Haggard Cancels Concert at Fan Feast
Friday, July 17th, 2009Merle Haggard, set to be the headline act for the evening concert Saturday July 18th at Fan Fest held at Smokies Stadium, has been forced to cancel due to health reasons. Stadium officials are offering refunds to those who purchased tickets specifically to see Haggard. For more information call 865-286-2300.
Smoky Mountain Fan Fest
Friday, July 10th, 2009Smokies Stadium in Sevierville on July 18th and 19th will host the Smoky Mountain Fan Fest. Scheduled to appear are members of the cast of the Dukes of Hazard TV show along with other performers from other classic television shows and movies.
On Saturday night there will be a concert featuring country music legend Merle Haggard, along with Janie Fricke and Cooter’s Garage Band.

John Anderson in Concert
