The grand prize winner will receive Pigeon Forge accommodations for 4, plus four tickets to Dollywood, Wonderworks, Country Tonite, Titanic and 2 gas cards valued at $60 each. There will be an additional 33 prize winners who will receive a gas card worth $60.

Saturday, April 16th, 2011The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing is offering a new discounted rate to 2011 Dollywood Season Pass holders on accommodations at The Resort. This discounted rate is available either on-line or by calling our call center at 800-497-5749. To access the rate on-line enter the promo code SeaPass in the promo code box and the rate will appear as “Dolly season pass holder”. This special rate will be available on all room types that are available for the dates selected.
All reservations reserved under this special discounted rate will be required to show their 2011 season pass at check in. If no 2011 season pass is presented the rate will revert back to rack rate. We are sorry but the season pass will only be accepted at check in. This discounted rate may not be combined with any other discounts, coupons or other promotions.
2011 Dollywood & NASCAR Speedpark Packages
Friday, March 4th, 2011The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing now has rates loaded for Dollywood and NASCAR Speedpark for the 2011 season. This year guest will have the ability to build their own custom package to either or both parks.
Just go to our on-line booking engine, choose your dates and applicable rate type (our standard every day rate is called Rack, if you are a member of AAA, AARP, own a business or are a government employee you may select those applicable discounted rates). If available you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade, and then a box will appear where you can add tickets or other items. Look for the appropriate logo and select the type of tickets needed. (If you require more than 4 tickets of any certain type select 4 and then you will be able to add additional tickets).
Nascar Speedpark tickets are available beginning March 15 and Dollywood tickets starting March. 26th.
Currently we also have Rainforest Adventure tickets available and expect to add more attractions in the near future. The Resort aims to help you have an enjoyable vacation here in the Smokies, as we are passing on the savings that we receive from local attractions to you our guest.
Construction of Dollywood’s “Barnstormer” on Schedule
Sunday, February 13th, 2011A recent article in the Mountain Press stated the Dollywood’s new ride, the “Barnstormer”, should be ready by opening day. The ride is reminiscent of the stunts preformed by 1930s bi-plane pilots.
The new ride will accommodate 32 riders at one time and reach a height of 81feet with speeds up to 45mph. The ride is also ADA accessible as Dollywood has taken great strides to ensure those with disabilities can elect to enjoy the park. The “Barnstorms” is the fourth attraction that Dollywood has had manufactures modify so that it would be ADA accessible.
Season pass holders will have the opportunity to try the new ride March 25, with it opening to the general public on the park’s scheduled opening day March 26. Season pass holders will also be able to ride the “Barnstormer” one hour prior to the parks normal opening time in April, as it will be the parks featured attraction that month.
The 25th Annual Dolly Parade
Monday, May 3rd, 2010This upcoming Friday (May 7) Pigeon Forge will host the 25th Annual Dolly Parade, the unofficial start of this year’s tourist season and the 25th Anniversary season of Dollywood. Legendary local singer and songwriter Dolly Parton will be the parade’s grand marshal. The parkway will be lined with parade watchers admiring floats, marching bands, celebrities and of course the areas favorite daughter, Dolly. This year’s parade will begin at 6PM.
In addition to the Dolly Parade this weekend, Saturday morning at 9AM the Shrines will hold their Fun Fest Parade in downtown Pigeon Forge.
Let’s not forgot Mom this weekend with Mother’s Day on Sunday. The Resort has a special for this weekend including a two night stay and a $50 restaurant gift card for those looking for accomodations this weekend.

Dollywood’s New Attraction on Schedule for its Season Opening
Thursday, January 21st, 2010Dollywood’s newest attraction, Adventure Mountain, is scheduled to be completed for the park’s opening on March 27. Due to the economy the attraction was delayed until this year.
Adventure Mountain is billed as the largest challenge course in the country. There are four separate courses with 46 different elements plus a children’s area. The themed attraction will have much of the look and feel of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in its early years.
Dollywood Wins Top Award, Again!
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009Dollywood theme park recently claimed its 4th consecutive Heartbeat Award at the International Assoc. of Amusement Parks & Attractions Expo held in Las Vegas.
This year’s award was for “Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of the Blue Smoke”, featuring eight songs written by Dolly Parton. The parks previous Heartbeat Award winners were “Dreamland Drive In” in 2006 & 2008 and “The Great American Country Show” in 2007.

Dollywood Removes Festival from Schedule
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Dollywood has announced that it will not be holding its annual Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival this fall. Park officials stated the festival, originally scheduled to take place Sept. 4-21, 2009, is on hiatus.
