With this year’s Shades of the Past car show being moved to Dollywood’s Splash Country parking lot, The Resort at Governor’s Crossing is your ideal location. The 28th Annual Shades of the Past car show in Pigeon Forge will have a new location for 2010, Dollywood’s Splash Country parking lot. After many years of being located at Smoky River Ranch in Pigeon Forge, show organizers have moved to this spacious paved parking area. This move will eliminate the mud and hopefully much of the dust that show participants have annually battled at the previous location.
With the move to this location, The Resort at Governor’s Crossing offers easy access to the Splash Country parking lot via Veterans Boulevard. The Resort is located 3.2 miles from the entrance of Dollywood & Splash Country. Don’t waste time being stuck in traffic, the third stop light after leaving The Resort puts you right at the entrance.
This year’s show will be held September 10th & 11th for all Rods, Customs, and Classic manufactured on or before 1972.
The 2010 Spring Grand Rod Run rolls into Pigeon Forge this upcoming weekend. Many of the classic cars and hot rods arrived early to enjoy the event as car enthusiasts from around the country attend this show. With yesterdays beautiful weather we though we would bring you a few photos of some of the cars already in town. We will try to post more in the next few days. This weekends Grand Rod Run is the last major car show in Pigeon Forge this year. Overcast skies and periodic rains have not kept car enthusiasts and shoppers away. Here are a few photos from this morning.
