The Resort at Governor’s Crossing Announces New Miniature Golf Course

The Resort at Governor’s Crossing is pleased to announce the addition of a new 9 hole miniature golf course in 2013. The new mini golf (Putt Putt) course will be located between Phase I and the outdoor waterpark. It will occupy about half of the walkway and run length ways. Completion of the course is expected to be mid to late March.

The addition of the mini golf will add to The Resort’s growing list of on site amenities. In 2012 The Resort added its Pirate Ship Playground, a dry play area, and the Toddler Splash & Play area to the indoor waterpark.

Build Your Own Vacation Package

The Resort at Governor’s Crossing gives you the opportunity to build your own vacation package. You may select your unit type and then add desired attraction tickets. Currently we offer tickets for horseback riding at Adventure Park Five Oaks, NASCAR Speedpark all day passes, two day Dollywood tickets, and tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. We also have a wine package available that can be added to your stay.
The Resort uses multiple on-line reservation systems so that we are better equipped to handle the your needs. If you wish to just reserve a unit and at the present time do not wish to add tickets you may use this link for room only. To reserve a unit and purchase attraction tickets or add wine to your reservation please use this link. You may also call us toll free at 800-497-5749 to make a reservation or to add tickets to an existing reservation. Tickets are an advanced purchase and charged at time of booking.

New Pirate Ship Playground Now Open

The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing new “Pirate Ship Playground” is completed almost a full month ahead of schedule and now open. The new playground located between the lazy river and the building housing the front desk office is a dry play area. The new playground is recommended for children 5-12 years of age with adult supervision.

March 23rd The Resort will host its Grand Opening of the Pirate Ship at 4PM. Sevierville Mayor Bryan Atchley is schedule to cut the ribbon. Along with the mayor, “Captain Jesse Raven” will be available for pictures with the “little pirates” . DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS FORECASTED FOR MARCH 23rd THE GRAND OPENING HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

The Resort at Governor’ Crossing and NASCAR Speedpark have joined to offer discounted general admission tickets to NASCAR Speedpark. Enjoy luxury accommodations and the enjoyment of our indoor & outdoor water parks at The Resort and a day of fun at NASCAR Speedpark.
For 2012 we are going to allow you to build your own package to include NASCAR Speedpark all day tickets. Just go to our on-line booking engine, choose your dates and applicable rate type (our standard every day rate is called Rack, if you are a member of AAA, AARP, own a business or are a government employee you may select those applicable discounted rates). If available you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade, and then a box will appear where you can add tickets or other items. Look for the NASCAR Speedpark logo and select the tickets needed. (If you require more than 4 tickets select 4 and then you will be able to add additional tickets).
General admission daily tickets are for unlimited rides on the following tracks: Rookie, Competitor, Qualifier, Baby Bristol, Family 500, Young Champions and Slidewayz. Plus unlimited use of Bumper Boats, Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Golf Course, Exciting Kiddie and Family Rides, and Rock Climbing Wall.
General admission tickets are good any one day in the 2012 season and are non refundable.
The packages are available for stay dates 3/2/2012 to 11/3/2012 on-line and must be reserved 2 days prior to arrival. You must have Java Script enabled on your computer to view these rates. You may also call 800-494-7308 to reserve your package.

New Playground Area at The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing

The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing has announced the addition of “Pirate Ship” playground. Surveys of previous guests indicated a desire for a play area for smaller children, preferably one that would not involve swimming. After presenting these survey results at the annual Home Owners Association meeting , the association elected to purchase the attraction. The new “Pirate Ship” playground will be located between the outdoor pools and the building housing the front desk office. This dry play area will add to the many amenities already located at The Resort. Installation has already begun with completion targeting April 1st.

2012 Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies Package

Last year at The Resort @ Governor’s Crossing we began to allow you to build your own packages. We are happy to announce that again in 2012 we have tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

Again in 2011 Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is at TN Smokies Stadium in Sevierville, TN. With hundreds of thousands of lights programmed to music, this is a “can’t miss” experience for the family during the holidays.
While taking in the light show the children will enjoy “Santa’s Village” with a free petting zoo. There are also pony and camel rides, photos with Santa, and festive refreshments.
Hours are dusk to 10PM. Fees schedule.

Local Corn Mazes

Today’s Knoxville News Sentinel has a nice article on corn mazes in their life section. They list local corn mazes with two located in Sevierville. The Apple Valley Corn Maze is located at 460 Lonesome Valley Rd. and the Kyker Farms Corn Maze is at 938 Alder Branch Road. So if you are visiting the Smokies this fall and looking for some fun family activities give these a visit.

Due to this special price The Resort at Governor’s Crossing will discontinue during the month of October selling the wrist band tickets, as these tickets are not set up for this program. This also means that we will not be able to allow you to build custom packages using the NASCAR tickets on our web site, but you will still be able to purchase tickets at the park.

New Dinner Show in the Smokies to Open Aug. 26

The new Lumberjack Feud Dinner & Show will open Aug. 26 on the parkway in Pigeon Forge. The show will feature both actors and professional lumberjack athletes, some of whom have been seen on ESPN. The athletes, in head-to-head competition, will participate in log-rolling, boom-running, speed climbing and wood chopping.

The show, in its new 26,000 square foot arena, will be based loosely on this area’s logging business as the woodlands were transformed in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With three different price plans guests can choose from a show-only option, a snack-lunch ticket, or the full dinner show. The full dinner show option will include chicken breast, ribs, several sides, dessert, and a beverage.

Adjoining the theater’s retail & ticket center is the new Smoky Mountain Forestry History Center. The museum will highlight the area’s history beginning with native inhabitants continuing with the pioneers & homesteaders in the Smokies during the early days of the logging industry.
