Thursday, February 18th, 2010The Resort at Governor’s Crossing has brought back its very popular NASCAR Speedpark packages for the 2010 season. Combining excellent accommodations, The Resort’s exciting waterpark activities and a fun filled day at the NASCAR Speedpark, this multi night package will make your families trip to the Smokies one to remember.
Book a stay of two or more consecutive nights at our special NASCAR Speedpark Rate and receive an all-day wristband voucher ticket to NASCAR Speedpark for each day of your stay (stay 2 nights 2 tickets, 3 nights 3 tickets and so on). Packages are available on both one and two bedroom condominiums, additional voucher tickets may be purchased at the front desk.
The packages are available for stay dates 3/19/2010 to 10/30/2010 on-line and to reserve this package enter the pass code SPEED in the promo box and enter your dates. From the drop down box next to rate plan select NASCAR SPEEDPARK PACKAGE and this will display available room types with the special NASCAR SpeedPark rates. You must have Java Script enabled on your computer to view these rates. You may also call 800-494-7308 to reserve your package.
The special NASCAR Speedpark rate may not be combined with any other discounts, coupons or promotions, and you must select the NASCAR Speedpark Package rate. Certain restrictions apply to early departures. Wristband voucher tickets are good any one day in the 2010 season and are non refundable.

This Weeks Fall Foliage Update
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009Today’s photos from the Campbell Overlook show the Great Smoky Mountains at peak color in the lower elevations even though these pictures were taken with overcast skies in between rain showers. With the rain expected to move out of the area overnight and with little wind to take the leaves down, the colors should be excellent through the weekend.
When a person sees something everyday, it becomes the norm and many times it is overlooked or taken for granted. Having lived in this area the last eleven years, I can not remember seeing the vivid yellows, oranges and reds we are currently seeing. For many years the park service has said that we need rain through out the year to produce the vibrant colors, and this year has been very wet.
If one has not had the opportunity to view the fall colors in this region, this is an exceptional year to take the time and visit. With the upcoming weekend being one of the slower of the fall season, The Resort at Governors Crossing has great rates for a fall foliage getaway.

New Height Requirements for The Resort’s High Speed Water Slides
Friday, October 9th, 2009In listening to you, our guests, voice disappointment with the manufacture’s 48 inch height requirement on the indoor high speed water slides we are pleased to announce a new 36 inch height requirement. After many months of negotiations with the manufacturer and their representatives they have agreed to allow any child 36” or taller to use the slides.
Children 36” to 48” tall will be required to wear a life vest provided by The Resort to use the water slides. Anyone 48”or taller will still be able to use the slides without the vest.
The Resort at Governor’s Crossing strives to make all guests, including our younger guest’s stay an enjoyable and safe experience.

Third Water Slide for The Resort
Sunday, January 17th, 2010The Resort at Governor’s Crossing announced yesterday (1/16) that it would be adding a 3rd waterslide to its indoor and outdoor water park facilities. The third slide will be located at the outdoor pool area adding to its array of waterpark amenities. Instillation of the slide is targeted for completion in late April of this year.
Also, The Resort announced the addition of a “Log Roll” to its indoor facility for 2010. The “Log Roll” will be similar to the old lumberjack challenge of staying upright while the log is spinning in the water. The “log roll” can be used individually or to challenge another person. The “Log Roll” will replace the Gator that was installed in 2009, the Gator will move to one of the outdoor pools. Instillation of the “Log Roll” is expected to be completed sometime in April.
