This year The Resort features a synchronized Christmas light display for this year’s Winterfest. The computer generated display, about 18 minutes in length, begins each evening at 6PM and then runs every half hour with the final showing at 9:30PM.
The display is the work of two brothers Nick & Alex Miller. Nick is a freshman at Belmont University in Nashville, and Alex is a senior at Pigeon Forge High School. Nick handled the computer programming and assisted Alex, who has been the troubleshooter for the project, with set up.
The display is free to guests and the general public, with ample parking nearby.
The Resort at Governor’s Crossing announced today that the outdoor pools and lazy river will remain open and heated through October 31st. A definite closing date for the season will be decided at a later time depending on weather conditions and pool usage. The indoor waterpark is open year round.
With this year’s Shades of the Past car show being moved to Dollywood’s Splash Country parking lot, The Resort at Governor’s Crossing is your ideal location. The 28th Annual Shades of the Past car show in Pigeon Forge will have a new location for 2010, Dollywood’s Splash Country parking lot. After many years of being located at Smoky River Ranch in Pigeon Forge, show organizers have moved to this spacious paved parking area. This move will eliminate the mud and hopefully much of the dust that show participants have annually battled at the previous location.
With the move to this location, The Resort at Governor’s Crossing offers easy access to the Splash Country parking lot via Veterans Boulevard. The Resort is located 3.2 miles from the entrance of Dollywood & Splash Country. Don’t waste time being stuck in traffic, the third stop light after leaving The Resort puts you right at the entrance.
This year’s show will be held September 10th & 11th for all Rods, Customs, and Classic manufactured on or before 1972.
The Resort at Governor’s Crossing and Adventure Park at Five Oaks have entered into an agreement that will offer a free zip line tour for renting a condo at The Resort. The agreement offers one free tour when you present your current rental receipt and a photo ID matching the name on the receipt to the Adventure Park’s sales office.
Free Zip Line Tour
Zip line tours are one of the newest attractions in the Smokies. Adventure Park’s tours takes 50-90 minutes to complete, with their longest line being 2000 feet. Participant’s weight requirements are 70-270lbs, and you must wear closed toed shoes.
The free zip line tour must be taken during the dates listed on the receipt. Guest is requested to call 865-453-8644 and set up a time for their tour to avoid long delays. Park hours are 9AM to 10PM weather permitting.
This offer has no cash value and there are no rain checks due to weather or mechanical closures. Offer is subject to the conditions and requirements of Adventure Park at Five Oaks. This upcoming Friday (May 7) Pigeon Forge will host the 25th Annual Dolly Parade, the unofficial start of this year’s tourist season and the 25th Anniversary season of Dollywood. Legendary local singer and songwriter Dolly Parton will be the parade’s grand marshal. The parkway will be lined with parade watchers admiring floats, marching bands, celebrities and of course the areas favorite daughter, Dolly. This year’s parade will begin at 6PM.
In addition to the Dolly Parade this weekend, Saturday morning at 9AM the Shrines will hold their Fun Fest Parade in downtown Pigeon Forge.

The 2010 Spring Grand Rod Run rolls into Pigeon Forge this upcoming weekend.
